Entry Requirements for this Job:
Entrants typically require relevant experience or qualifications in bricklaying or construction. A vocational qualification in bricklaying (NVQ/SVQ Level 2/3) or a related trade is advantageous. Entry can also be achieved through an approved apprenticeship program, college course, or significant on-the-job training. Knowledge of building regulations, safety standards, and the ability to interpret technical drawings is essential.

Required Tasks for this Job Include but Are Not Limited To:

1. Examining technical drawings, blueprints, and site photographs to determine construction requirements and specifications.
2. Measuring and marking construction sites to establish accurate positioning for walls and other structures.
3. Mixing and spreading mortar or other bonding materials to prepare for brick or block placement.
4. Laying and aligning bricks, blocks, or stones with precision, ensuring straightness, levelness, and stability.
5. Using hand and power tools to cut, shape, and trim bricks or blocks to fit specific measurements or angles.
6. Repairing, replacing, or repointing damaged brickwork and ensuring it matches the original structure.
7. Collaborating with site supervisors, architects, and other construction workers to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.
8. Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas to meet health, safety, and environmental regulations.

English Knowledge Requirement:
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to at least level B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale.
